Tanzania Essential and Zanzibar: safari and beach in 13 days

A 13-day, 10-night journey that combines the best of northern Tanzania with the relaxation of Zanzibar’s beaches. You will go on safari in the most famous parks of the circuit aboard 4×4 vehicles with 6/7 seats and a pop-up roof, with a guaranteed window seat, accompanied by a local driver-guide who speaks Italian and English. After the adventure in the savanna, enjoy four nights by the sea at a resort on the Zanzibar coast.

Itinerary

Day 1, Departure from Italy: flight to Tanzania with a connection and change of aircraft. Overnight on board.

Day 2, Arusha: arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, where our representative will meet you for the transfer to the hotel. Accommodation at the Mount Meru Hotel or similar, with overnight stay and breakfast.

Day 3, Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park: after breakfast, departure for Lake Manyara National Park with a packed lunch and a guided photo safari inside the park. Dinner and overnight stay at Kirurumu Camp or similar.

Day 4, Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park (250 km): after breakfast, departure for the Serengeti (about 5 hours of driving, not including time spent on the photo safari), with a lunch box along the way. Arrival in the late afternoon in the central Serengeti and accommodation at Nyabogati Camp or similar, a gem set in the plains with a breathtaking view. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 5, Serengeti National Park: a full day of morning and afternoon photo safaris inside the park. Full board at Nyabogati Camp or similar. Optional: hot-air balloon safari.

Day 6, Serengeti – Ngorongoro (250 km): breakfast at the lodge and a morning photo safari as you leave the Serengeti. Transfer to Ngorongoro and descent into the crater for an exciting photo safari (maximum 6 hours) in one of Africa’s most incredible sites, with a picnic lunch stop. In the late afternoon, arrival at the lodge near the town of Karatu. Dinner and overnight stay at Endoro Lodge or similar.

Day 7, Karatu – Tarangire (250 km): after breakfast, departure for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. The park, known as the “home of the elephants,” stands out for its landscape dotted with baobabs, which frame some of the most beautiful sunsets on the circuit. Accommodation at Tarangire Sopa Lodge or similar, with dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8, Tarangire – Arusha – Zanzibar: after breakfast, departure for Arusha, packed lunch and transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Zanzibar. On arrival, shared transfer to your accommodation. Four nights at one of the following:

• Sansi Kwenda (3.5*S, north-west area), Deluxe Standard room, all-inclusive
• Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa (4*, east area), Deluxe Garden room, all-inclusive

Days 9 to 11, Zanzibar: beach stay dedicated to relaxation.

Day 12, Zanzibar – Departure for Italy: after breakfast, check-out and free time before the transfer to the airport. Return flight with a connection and change of aircraft.

Day 13, Arrival in Italy.
