Description
Day 1 – From Milan to Carrara and Florence
Departure from Milan in the early morning heading towards Carrara.
Upon arrival, guided visit to the famous Carrara Marble Quarries, an iconic site where the precious white marble used since Roman times — and chosen by great artists such as Michelangelo — is extracted. A fascinating experience surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and centuries-old craftsmanship.
Afterwards, transfer to the charming village of Colonnata, renowned for the production of the famous PGI Colonnata lard. Walk through the historic center followed by a tasting of this traditional delicacy accompanied by local specialties.
In the afternoon, departure for Florence. Arrival and hotel check-in. Free time for a first exploration of the city.
Day 2 – Florence
Breakfast at the hotel and meeting with the guide for a tour of Florence’s historic center. The visit will include the city’s most iconic landmarks, cradle of the Renaissance, such as Florence Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, and the Basilica of Santa Croce.
In the afternoon, free time for individual visits, shopping, or relaxing while strolling through the historic streets of the city.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 – San Gimignano and the Flavors of Tuscany
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for San Gimignano, a fascinating medieval hill town famous for its towers and rich food and wine traditions.
In the morning, enjoy a truffle hunting experience in the Tuscan countryside accompanied by expert truffle hunters and trained dogs, discovering the aromas and secrets of this precious local treasure.
Lunch will follow with a tasting of traditional Tuscan specialties and truffle-based dishes.
In the afternoon, visit an ancient local vinsantaia, where guests will discover the tradition of Vin Santo and regional wine production through guided tastings.
Return to the hotel in Florence for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 – Rome and the Treasures of the Vatican
Breakfast at the hotel and morning departure for Rome. Arrival and free lunch.
In the afternoon, meet the guide for a 3.5-hour guided tour of the renowned Vatican Museums, home to one of the world’s greatest art collections. The tour continues with a visit to the extraordinary Sistine Chapel, admiring Michelangelo’s masterpieces, and the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica.
In the evening, dinner at a traditional Roman trattoria featuring authentic local cuisine.
Return to the hotel in Rome for overnight stay.
Day 5 – From Rome to Perugia
Breakfast at the hotel and free morning to independently explore Rome or enjoy a walk through the historic center, discovering famous landmarks such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona.
Free lunch.
In the afternoon, departure for Perugia with the opportunity to visit the historic Perugina chocolate factory and its famous chocolate house, discovering the Umbrian chocolate-making tradition and the production process behind the iconic Baci Perugina chocolates.
Afterwards, transfer to the hotel, check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 6 – Return to Milan
Breakfast at the hotel and morning departure for the return journey to Milan.
Stops for refreshments and relaxation will be made along the route.
Arrival in Milan is expected in the late afternoon, marking the end of the cultural and food & wine tour.
